The Preston Marriott Hotel is one of my most local wedding venues and one I’ve visited several times. With its contemporary style and refined luxury in 11 acres of strikingly beautiful grounds, the elegant Victorian manor is the perfect wedding venue for celebrate such a memorable day.
Stunning Church Wedding
Ann and Tom started their day by getting married in a packed out St Luke’s church in Hest Bank which is just north of Lancaster. The church is only 100 yards from where Ann lives with her family in the small village so she was already well known to the local vicar and the congregation. Unfortunately for me as a photographer I was given very strict instructions by the female vicar that I wasn’t allowed towards the front of the church for anything other than the bride walking down the aisle after which I was restricted to the back of the church and a very poor view from the side. This is the first time in my wedding photography career I’ve had such restrictions put on me but I always abide by the house rules and do the best I can.
Preston Marriott Hotel Wedding Reception
Following the wedding ceremony the newly married couple were driven in their vintage Bentley down to the Preston Marriott Hotel where there was a drinks reception waiting for the wedding party on the expansive front lawn.
Dancing late in to the night
With some fantastic singing from the awesome Russell Shaun the guests were on the dance floor very early and they stayed there until well in to the night as well as dancing on the tables and a little impromptu karaoke from the bridesmaids. It was a bit of a struggle as they were having such a great time dancing with all their friends but I managed to entice the bride and groom outside for a few moments back on to the front lawn for a few lovely couples portraits during the lovely orange sun setting over the Lancashire countryside.
