Living in Preston we generally don’t get that much snow but when the ‘Beast from the East’ swept across Britain in the last few days of February, Preston was hit with several inches of snow. It all looked very pretty in everyone’s photos that quickly appeared on Facebook and Instagram but attempting to drive in it was a nightmare for many of us. One of those people who definitely struggled was John from JPRShah Photography who is based up in Northumberland where they had up to 4ft of snow and it caused John to get snowed in for nearly a week. It was so bad that just 2 days before Dani & Robbie’s wedding I was contacted by John to ask if I could step in for him and provide emergency cover as he wasn’t going to be able to make the trip down to Preston. As you can see from some of John’s photos here, it all looks very beautiful but in the battle of nature Vs 4x4, nature was the winner.
BRIDAL PREPARATION AT HOME IN LEYLAND
Dani began the day getting ready at her home in Leyland with her Mum and her 4 bridesmaids with their hair and makeup was done by Dani’s sisters. I could tell straight away that Dani was one of the most relaxed brides I’d had the pleasure of working with and nothing was going to faze her so it was a very chilled few hours before the wedding. I then popped round the corner to briefly meet up with Robbie and his groomsmen as they jumped in to their stretch limousine to make the short journey to the Park Hall Hotel for the wedding ceremony.
PARK HALL HOTEL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
The Medieval Banqueting Suite at Park Hall Hotel dates back to 966AD and has fantastic stone walls and an oak beamed ceiling with its original chandeliers hanging from the ceiling which gives the place some amazing light for the a wedding ceremony. Dani looked absolutely stunning as she was walked down the aisle by her father to be given away to Robbie who was waiting to catch a first glimpse of his new bride.
MEDIEVAL BANQUET HALL WEDDING RECEPTION
After a champagne drinks reception in the lounge bar and the obligatory confetti line, the guests assembled back in the banqueting suite for a delicious three course wedding breakfast before the speeches by the groom and his 2 best men. The room was then cleared a little to make way for a dancefloor to allow the newlyweds to do their first dance to the music of their favourite band, The Used.
